Today's Class Topic is Mail Merging

New Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Hold down the CTRL shift key, then press the < and > key to make the text bigger or smaller.

  •  CTRL S lets you select all of the text.

New Things I learned Today:

  • I learned how to print out labels for envelopes.

  • I learned how to use existing list from my flash drive

  • I learned that if you don't proofread or let someone else read your letter before you send it to everyone through email, you can confuse a lot of people.

  • Mail Merge is what the people use at the post office.

New MS Word Ribbon Item:

  • Clicking on the Mailings tab lets you to create labels, envelopes and more.

Today's Topic of today is creating a document with a title page, list, tables, and a watermark

They keyboard shortcuts that I learned today was using the Control M to move words over just as if you were pushing the tab key.

New Things I Learned Today:
  • Control D - Which shows you another way to format your words
  • Control M- Which shows you how to move words
  • F7- Which shows you how to spell check your work
  • Control X- Shows you how to cut your work
New Ms Word Ribbon Item:
  • Page layout let's you put a watermark on the back ground of your or your paper

Browsing Around In Sumo Paint

New Keyboard Shortcuts:
  • CTRL Z for undo
  • CTRL F to find words
New Things I learned Today:
  • The enclosure are not to be move at the 4'' mark.
  • Business letters are calibre 11.
  • I  have to make up my own color scheme for my Veteran's letter and not the books.
  • In a modified letter, position cursor at the 4'' mark when you type the date in.
New MS Word Ribbon Item:
  • The table tool layout take the grid lines out of tables.

Today's topic was knowing how to use excel

 Knew Keyboard Shortcuts:
  • CTRL C for copy
  • CTRL V
New Things I Learned Today:
  • There are over 1 billion  cells in a spread sheet
  • Double click on the ruler in word the document to position long lines that are used for things like applications
  • Instead of typing word for word in a cell you can position your cursor on the edge of a cell until you see a little square box and drag your items to the destination where you want it.
  • To move a cell to another, click the cursor on the edge of the cell until you see something that looks like a compass and drag it where you want it.
New MS Word Ribbon Item:
  • I learned how to insert a footnote at the end of an document by clicking in the reference tab.

Tuesday's topic was learning how to compress a picture

New Keyboard Shortcuts:
  • CTRL P to print
  • Shift CTRL > to increase font size
New Things I learned Today:
  • I learned how to click on the down arrow to find more bullets
  • How to click wrap text to move pictures around
  • Black ink cost over $10,000
  • How to change the color on the bullets
I learned by clicking on the insert tab in the ribbon and it shows me how to create a table for keeping charts organized.


The title for today is using MLA Formatting

The new keyboarding shortcut that I learned today was:
  • CTRL G
  • CTRL Enter
  • CTRL E
  • F12
The new things that I learned today while formatting are:
  • Learning what WC stands for which means word count that is located at the bottom of the page when typing
  • MLA uses footnote not endnote
  • Knowing how to position the cursor correctly when pointing it
  • MLA reports are positioned at the 12 point mark in Times New Roman
New MS Word Ribbon Item:
The one thing that I learned how to use from the ribbon was the reference tab in which it helped me to find the footnote for formatting.
